Let B.J. Terroni Company help you with your next commercial pump project.

Our facility in Bensalem, Pennsylvania houses the equipment and tools to build a customized commercial pump to your project specifications. While this service may sound new, we’ve been offering it since the 1990’s. Our pump building service allows us to reduce lead times on customized commercial pumps which depending on your project type, new or retrofit, reduces project timelines or system down-time.

The pump building process begins with some project details such as the pump type needed and general system requirements including flow and head rates. One of our team members enters this information into a sizing program which guides them in choosing the proper model, impeller diameter and motor horsepower for the pump. They then take the pump information from the program, put it into a quote, and send it to the customer to review. Once approved, the quote is converted to an order and sent to our warehouse team.

Our warehouse team reviews the order and pulls the pump and parts needed for customization from the shelf and begins the pump building process. This process typically includes pulling the impeller and trimming it down to the size calculated in the program, adding the proper motor, and putting the pump back together. Once together, the pump is painted, boxed, and ready to ship. The typical turn-around time for a customized pump is three to five business days, depending on the pump type. Due to the large amount of warehouse space at B.J. Terroni Company, we inventory a majority of the parts needed to build these pumps; this is imperative to the quick turn-around time.

Our current pump building capabilities include Taco’s 1600 Series Pumps, 1900 Series Pumps, KV Series Vertical In-Line Pumps, and FI Series Base Mounted End Suction Pumps. These options encompass multiple configurations as well as a wide range of flow and head requirements, meeting the conditions for many projects. While our pump building capabilities are extensive, we do have some limitations. If your project requirements are beyond our capabilities, we can always rely on Taco’s factory to help us out, especially on the larger sized pumps.

The custom pump building service we offer is one of many we have in place to assist our customers in reaching their project and business goals. A system shut down can be a catastrophe; knowing it can be running again soon provides peace of mind and savings. Our custom pump building service significantly reduces lead times, changing weeks into days. We are here to serve our customers, one custom built commercial pump at a time.
